Induction SMR

Most of the Hydrogen in the world is produced by Steam Methane Reforming. This is an endothermic reaction where natural gas reacts with steam at a high temperature of 800° Celsius and 30 bar pressure. The heat of reaction is provided by combustion of about one third of natural gas feedstock. The products of combustion, largely CO2, SOx and NOx are released into atmosphere.

New Technology

Pyramid E&C Group, has developed Hydroblue® SMR, a novel induction catalytic reforming technology that eliminates natural gas combustion and flue gas emission, while delivering higher efficiency than conventional or electric reforming. Following successful pilot testing, Hydroblue® SMR has achieved TRL 7 and is ready for commercial deployment.

Hydroblue® operates on low voltage and works easily with solar photovoltaic (PV) power. Pyramid E&C supplies the reformer integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to provide round the clock operation.
